Disney Capsule Wardrobe: Fall Edition

I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone! Halloween is over, and Christmas is fast approaching. But before I start dressing in Mickey Santa outfits and ugly Christmas sweaters (which I actually not-so-secretly love to do), I’d like to celebrate fall just a few weeks more.

Again, there is no fall in the Philippines, but it doesn’t mean we can’t dress in fall colors. And it was actually the rich browns, yellows, oranges, and deep greens that inspired this month’s DCW. And as a little bonus, I did 11 items this time for a whopping 22 Disney outfits!

The items I included for this are all pretty adaptable to any type of climate. So whether you’re reading this from my side of the world with airconditioning for fall, or from a place that actually experiences color-changing leaves and crisp air, these looks are pretty easy to layer up or down.

Besides the warm color palette (which is always the first step to planning a good capsule wardrobe), I also played with texture this time around – incorporating corduroy, knit, and fleece to my usual jeans and cotton shirts.

And again using my tried and tested formula, I picked out different types of bottoms – jeans, trousers, overalls, a skirt, and a dress, and rotated my tops and accessories in different ways. For some items, you can find more than one way to wear them. Like the pinafore dress – it can be worn it both over a top or under it, and it easily turns into a skirt. Or a the flannel top – it can be worn open, tucked in, or even around the waist. It’s always important to note that dressing up doesn’t have to be a chore, especially when you’re dressing in Disney. Experiment and have fun!

For shoes, I think sneakers and ankle boots can be worn anywhere, and can easily serve as a replacement to the knee high boots if there is no need for them. And for accessories, apart from the ears, all of them can be used whether you’re going on a fall vacay to Disney or are in need of a cute Disney accent for your everyday attire.

You’ll find that in all of these DCW blogs (I’ll link the first ones at the end if you’re interested), my Disney Style is actually quite simple. Because I don’t think incorporating Disney into your wardrobe has to be all out all the time, especially if you want to wear these outfits on a daily basis. Your bags don’t always have to be Disney character heads, your skirts don’t always have to be tutus, and your head doesn’t always have to be decked out in glittery ears for you to incorporate Disney Style – which is what these blogs are all about. You can wear Disney in any way and in any setting, for as long as it’s you.
