Disneybounding with Pups: Cinderella with Jaq and Gus Gus

I think an introduction is in order.

For those of you who have been following me on Instagram and on this blog for a bit, you’d probably know these two already. These are my mini dachshunds, Koko and Krunch – named after the cereal, yes. Lol.

KOKO is my Princess (the smaller one that looks like a stuffed animal lol). She’s officially my first dog, since all the ones that came before her were more my brother’s or my dad’s. But because she was basically raised by me, she is a Disney Princess dog. She had a Disney Princess bowl and a Disney Princess bed growing up, so naturally, she acts like a Disney Princess too. She can sit on my lap and cuddle the entire day without getting bored or agitated, she hardly ever runs or barks because she’s a lady, and she never wolfs down food or slurps her water because that would be uncivilized lol. All she wants in life are gentle hugs and dainty kisses.

KRUNCH (the little furball) is quite the opposite. He’s like our family clown in the best way possible. This guy can never sit still. He loves playing ball (but doesn’t like returning said ball to continue playing ball). He loves chasing after everything and everyone, and will follow you everywhere (including the bathroom) just to make sure you make it there safely. Then he’ll get distracted by something and leave you just as quickly lol. There hasn’t been a day in his life that he hasn’t made me laugh out loud for one reason or another, and he will never, ever stop asking you for belly rubs.

Now that you’ve been introduced, let me move away from the proud mom section of this blog and into the Disney one.

This isn’t the first time I’ve dressed up with my pups. I’ve made them Gryffindor scarves, neckties, and robes before. But surprisingly, this is actually the first Disney thing I’ve ever done with them. I suppose I’d been waiting for the right fit. And a few weeks ago as I was singing “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” in the shower (yeah I do that IRL lol), I realized it was right there in the middle of one of my favorite movies: Cinderella.

Jaq and Gus Gus were perfect for them. Besides the obvious fur color, their adorable little builds were a match, and I was especially keen on seeing Krunch in his little hanging shirt.

I sewed them little outfits and scarves in the appropriate colors (neither of them like hats, believe me I’ve made several attempts), and let out more than one excited giggle when I was putting the tiny sleeves together. All I had to do next was style my outfit, and our first Disneybound together would be complete.

For my bound, I just went for pieces I made about a year ago. A powder blue tulle skirt, and a white off shoulder tie-up blouse. For accessories, I put these simple silver flowers in my hair, and quite appropriately only managed to wear one “glass slipper” because Krunch kept me so occupied (as you can probably see in the photos) lol. You can find the other on the floor beside my Cinderella clutch from Danielle Nicole.

And since this look got quite a bit of love, I got inspired to do another version of this bound with the same Jaq and Gus Gus outfits.

But this time, I did Cinderella’s Sing Sweet Nightingale bound. Since I had scrap material lying around that was kind of close to the colors of her dress, I sewed this two tone brown overall dress that I wore over a light blue off shoulder blouse. Also made a white apron and white bowband to match, since she wears a white bandana while she cleans.

As added little accessories for my pups, I made these leashes out of tape measure as a callback to Jaq and Gus Gus helping their Cinderelly with her dress.

“Oh yes. I believe that animals listen and speak to us if we only have the ear for it.
That’s how we learn to look after them.” – Ella’s mother, Cinderella 2015

Needless to say, this has probably got to be one of my favorite bounds ever, since I got to do it with my two babies. And this won’t be the last either. Since I’ve been getting quite a few requests to turn bounding with Koko and Krunch into a series, I might do just that.

If you’ve got any requests or ideas for our next mini family Disneybound, comment here or on my Instagram! Would love to know your suggestions.
