Truly Magical: Star Wars Lookbook

TODAY’S THE DAY! I’ve got my movie passes, my lightsaber, my Disneybounds, snacks, tissues. I think I’ve got everyhing ready. I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything, have I? Oh, I know. My heart. My heart is the only thing that is not prepared for this. Ahh. I. am. freaking. out.

Okay before I go full on Kylo out of excitement and start randomly hitting things with my lightsaber, let’s break this down into manageable steps shall we? Lol. Staying calm. I am one with the Force and the Force is with me.

Star Wars Lookbook

The Rise of Skywalker is here, and you guys know what that means where I’m concerned – a #trulymagicallookbook dedicated to the movie. Or movies, I should say.

Star Wars has so much lore under its belt now – what with 3 trilogies, 2 spinoffs, TV series, games, Disney+, and now even a whole theme park, that it was so hard to narrow down the looks I wanted to do for this. But in the end I decided to keep it simple and whittle it down to five: Jedi, Sith, Rebel Pilot, Droid, and Trooper.

So without further ado, to a galaxy far, far away we go.

JEDI

IMG_2440.JPG

If I had to pick my favorite Jedi, or my favorite Star Wars character really, it would be Obi-Wan. I just feel like he’s everything a Jedi should be. Brave, just, kind, wise, skilled, and let’s face it – really cute. Lol. So I wanted to pull a little inspo from him for this bound.

IMG_2438.JPG

So I went with this brown wrap knit top, light brown corduroy pants, and even slightly scuffed knee high boots – you know, for authenticity. Lol. Threw on this makeshift Jedi robe to step it up a notch. Also added a small Padawan sidebraid as a simple little touch. And you can’t do a Jedi bound without a lightsaber, right?

“Many of the truths that we cling to depend on our point of view.”

SITH

IMG_2444.JPG

Apart from Darth Vader’s appearance in Rogue One, I think Darth Maul is the most badass Sith Lord there is. I mean, I didn’t know who I was rooting for at one point during his epic lightsaber duel with Obi-Wan. But if I were to bound just one Sith, nothing beats the OG. I have to pay my respects to Lord Vader. Cue music and breathing sounds.

IMG_2449.JPG

So for Darth Vader, I went with a black leather top and skirt, and some black suede knee high boots. I went pretty simple with this, but I thought the look worked on its own.

TROOPER

IMG_7929.JPG

I didn’t really have anything appropriate in my closet for this one. Since I do try to limit the clothes I use for these bounds to either things I already own or things I sew myself, this is the best I could come up with for a Stormtrooper.

IMG_7924.JPG

Just wore white pants, and the most structured white top I own to kind of represent the armor. Then I paired everything with these silver booties. I know I was supposed to keep the color spectrum to white or even black, but I loved the shine on them and thought they’d still be a fun addition to this bound.

“These aren’t the droids we’re looking for.”

DROID

IMG_2434.JPG

Speaking of droids – now C3PO may not be my favorite what with a contender like R2D2, but I can’t say no to a nice golden Disneybound lol.

IMG_2435.JPG

So I took out this yellow gold bathrobe I’ve had forever and used it as a dress. Lol. Replaced the sash with a gold belt, and accessorized with gold cuffs and a shiny gold bib necklace. I figured since C3PO is all about etiquette, he wouldn’t say no to a slightly fancy bound like this.

IMG_2437.JPG

“Hello. I don’t believe we have been introduced. R2-D2? A pleasure to meet you.
I am C-3PO, Human-Cyborg Relations.”

C-3PO

PILOT

IMG_2423

I had always dreamed of becoming a rebel pilot. Growing up, I thought their uniform was the absolute coolest. Now that I’m older, it’s made even cooler with Poe Dameron in it. I know he’s quite different from my other Star Wars hero Obi-Wan, but I do have a special place in my heart for stubborn, witty, sarcastic, but truly well-intentioned, kind (and handsome) men. And did I mention the uniform? Lol.

This bound is a bit of a cheat though, since I reused my cosplay for it in a different way. I made this suit for a con last year, and took it out again for this. Instead of buttoning it up all the way, I just used the flightsuit as pants, and wore it with a white tshirt. Used the same accessories to complete the look. It’s very off-duty Resistance Starfighter Corps. Lol.

*If you aren’t following my Instagram (which I hope you are/will) and haven’t seen the full cosplay version of this suit, I’ll insert a couple of pictures below:

Made everything from scratch. It’s not the most accurate, but I’m still pretty proud of how it turned out.

STAR WARS

Okay bonus round! I know this aren’t Disneybounds, but again if you haven’t been following me on the Gram then you haven’t seen these looks yet. Inspired by the movies themselves, and featuring two of my favorite Star Wars items ever, I put together this little ensemble that I am wearing to the cinema for today’s premiere!

IMG_2454

I know I’ve used these silver boots for so many Star Wars looks already but when else will they be this perfect amiright?

IMG_2452

Paired them with this silver glittery cutout bodysuit, and a starry black skirt. And I am bringing all my necessities in this Loungefly stormtrooper bag that I am over the moon for. (I’ll link their massive Star Wars selection at the end of the blog)

Space gets pretty cold, which brings me to something I am so excited to be wearing today:

IMG_2462.JPG

How STUNNING is this jacket from the Levis Star Wars Collection?? (Again, I’ll link this below).

IMG_2467.JPG

Just. AHH. Photos do not do it justice. I might just wear it to every screening (because we all know I’m going to watch it multiple times)

“The Force runs strong in your family. Pass on what you have learned.”
-Yoda

Time flies quicker then the Millennium Falcon (sorry Han lol).

It’s the end of another era, and I cannot imagine bidding farewell to characters I feel like I’ve just begun to know. But I truly feel so lucky to have been able to grow up with such an amazing story, and to see it continue on such a magnificent scale. Wherever this last installment takes us, and whatever differing opinions we will all have at the end of it, I am confident that the galaxy will be big enough for all of us.

May the Force Be With You.
